The tour leaves from Dahab at 23:00. On reaching Mt. Sinai, you’ll begin the climb with your guide at 02:00. The views of the stars on the ascent are spectacular, and the sunrise that you’ll experience from the top is awe-inspiring. After seeing the sun rise, you’ll climb back down the mountain for your guided tour of St. Catherine’s Monastery.
St. Catherine’s was constructed during the 5th century. The site was that of a 4th-century chapel built on the spot where Moses is said to have encountered God speaking to him from a burning bush. There is a frequently photographed bush on the site that is believed to have descended from the original.
